Accessibility

Last Updated: July 2026

Greycrest Visuals Inc. is committed to ensuring that our website and the video productions we deliver are accessible to all people, including those with disabilities. This page describes our accessibility practices, our current status, and how to contact us if you encounter a barrier.

1. Our Commitment

We believe that accessible communication is not a compliance requirement. It is a standard of quality. Every person who visits our website or views a production we have made deserves to be able to engage with that content fully, regardless of their abilities or the assistive technologies they use.

We work to align with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, the standard referenced in the Accessible Canada Act and in most provincial accessibility legislation. We also apply accessible production practices to the video and photography content we create for our clients.

2. Website Accessibility

We have taken the following steps to make greycrestvisuals.com accessible:

  • Semantic HTML structure with appropriate heading hierarchy
  • Descriptive alt text on all meaningful images
  • Sufficient colour contrast between text and background elements
  • Keyboard navigability throughout the site, including navigation menus, buttons, and interactive elements
  • Focus indicators on all interactive elements
  • ARIA labels on navigation landmarks and interactive components
  • Responsive design that functions across screen sizes and devices
  • No content that flashes more than three times per second

3. Video Accessibility

Closed captions are included as a standard deliverable on all video productions completed by Greycrest Visuals Inc. Our caption production process uses human review and correction rather than uncorrected automated captioning, in order to meet WCAG 2.1 AA accuracy standards.

The following accessible deliverables are available for all productions upon request:

  • Closed captions in SRT format
  • Open captions burned into the video for platforms without caption file support
  • Full text transcripts of all spoken content
  • Audio description tracks where visual content conveys information not available in the audio
  • Plain-language scripts and narration for public-facing content

For government and public sector clients with specific accessibility requirements under the Accessible Canada Act or provincial legislation, we discuss and scope all required deliverables at the brief stage.

4. Known Limitations

We are continuously working to improve the accessibility of our website and our productions. Current known limitations include:

  • Some older case study images may have incomplete alt text. We are reviewing and updating these on an ongoing basis.
  • Third-party embedded content, including our contact form and video players, may have accessibility limitations that are outside our direct control. We work with providers who maintain accessible platforms and will raise concerns where limitations are identified.

5. Accessibility in Our Productions

When we are engaged to produce video content for clients, we bring the same accessibility standards to the production itself:

  • Plain-language writing for scripts and narration intended for public audiences
  • Clear on-screen text with sufficient contrast and readable sizing
  • Avoidance of strobing or rapidly flashing visual effects
  • Consideration of sensory sensitivities in sound design and music selection
  • Accessible participant consent processes for individuals with communication or accessibility needs

6. Feedback and Contact

If you encounter an accessibility barrier on our website or in our content, or if you need information in an alternative format, we want to hear from you. We take accessibility feedback seriously and will work to address barriers as quickly as possible.
