Who We Serve · Higher Education

Universities and Higher Education Video Production

Universities and colleges communicate simultaneously to prospective students, current students, faculty, researchers, alumni, donors, government funders, and the public. Each audience needs something different from the institution’s communications. Greycrest Visuals produces video and photography for post-secondary institutions across British Columbia and Canada.

Greycrest Visuals is based in Burnaby, British Columbia, and serves post-secondary institutions across Metro Vancouver, British Columbia, and Canada. We produce video and photography for universities, colleges, institutes of technology, and continuing education organizations whose communications serve multiple audiences with different needs and different reasons for engaging with the institution.

Student Recruitment Video

Effective recruitment video does not rely on sweeping campus aerials and generic music. It relies on specific students, specific programs, and specific experiences that are distinctive to your institution and meaningful to the prospective student who is trying to make one of the most significant decisions of their life.

We develop recruitment video through a brief process that establishes what makes your institution genuinely different from the alternatives a prospective student is considering.

Research Communications and Storytelling

Research communications video translates academic work into formats that general audiences, policy audiences, media, and potential funders can engage with. We do not summarize academic work without the researcher's involvement and approval. We do not make claims the research does not support.

Faculty Thought Leadership

Effective faculty thought leadership video does not read like a lecture and it does not feel like a marketing piece. It is a genuine conversation with a credible expert, produced in a way that is accessible to a non-specialist audience while respecting the complexity of the subject matter.

Alumni Engagement and Advancement Video

The most effective alumni video is a genuine piece of storytelling about what the institution has meant to the people who came through it, that creates the conditions for alumni to feel the value of their connection and respond to a call to support or engage.

Campus Production Logistics

We coordinate campus production logistics in advance with the relevant facilities, communications, and departmental contacts. We do not arrive on a campus filming day without a clear access plan, a confirmed schedule, and confirmed permissions for every space we intend to film in.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you produce video for specific faculties and departments, or only for central communications?

Both. We work with central communications teams, faculty communications offices, departmental administrators, and research groups depending on the project and the institution's internal structure.

What consent process is used for student subjects?

Student subjects receive a consent process that explains clearly how the footage will be used, where it will be published, and what their rights are. For students who are minors, parental or guardian consent is required.
