Greycrest Visuals provides event videography in Vancouver, Burnaby, and across Metro Vancouver, Greater Victoria, and British Columbia. Event videography is one of the most time-sensitive production services we offer. The event happens once, on a fixed date, and the footage cannot be recovered after the fact.
What Event Videography Produces
The most common deliverables from an event production include:
- A highlight film that captures the energy, key moments, and overall narrative of the event
- Speaker or session recordings for archival, streaming, or on-demand access
- On-site interview content capturing attendee, speaker, or stakeholder reactions
- Short-form social clips edited for immediate post-event distribution
Not every event needs all of these. We discuss the intended deliverables at the brief stage and plan the production accordingly.
Why Planning Determines the Outcome
An event happens once. There is no second take and no opportunity to return to the location and film something that was missed. What was not planned for, and not captured, does not exist in the edit.
We need to understand the event schedule in detail, identify the specific moments that must be captured, plan camera positions and audio setups that will work in the venue, and anticipate the practical constraints that will affect what the camera can see and hear.
Audio Planning
Audio is the most commonly underestimated element of event production. A visually strong highlight film with poor audio is almost always unusable. At every event we assess the audio environment before the shoot and plan accordingly.
Multi-Camera and Crew Planning
We assess crew requirements honestly at the brief stage. If a production requires more crew than the initial scope assumed, we say so before the event date rather than arriving on the day and attempting to cover more than is achievable.
Turnaround and Delivery
A standard event highlight film of two to four minutes typically requires two to three weeks of post-production. Rush turnaround for social media content requires specific planning and crew coordination on the day and is not a standard add-on.
Frequently Asked Questions
How far in advance should we book event videography?
At minimum four to six weeks before the event date. For large or complex events, eight to twelve weeks is preferable.
Do you cover events outside of Metro Vancouver?
Yes. We cover events in Victoria, across British Columbia, and nationally for institutional clients. For events on Vancouver Island, we typically travel by BC Ferries from Tsawwassen.
